Designer and educator Douglas Riccard joined the CMC board in 2016 after being introduced to the organization by his piano teacher Mary Jo Pagano. It only took attending one student performance for him to be hooked. Professionally he is the Owner and Creative Director of Memo NY, a branding agency which serves clients in the hospitality industry across the US. Prior to opening Memo Douglas worked in Italy, as Art Director for United Colors of Benetton and senior Designer at Sottsass Associati.

He has taught design, typography and letterpress at the School of Visual Arts in NY for over 15 years, frequently lectures at the International Culinary Center and has also taught and been a critic at The Cooper Union, The University of the Arts, Yale University, Hunter College, and NYU School of Professional Studies.

As Board member, Douglas aims to provide branding and marketing guidance across a variety of initiatives and is proud to support the work of our outstanding faculty and dedicated young musicians. In his spare time he can be heard playing the piano, seen biking in and around New York City or entertaining in his Brooklyn home.
